Nahum Mclean Masterclasses
Nahum Mclean Nahum McLean is from Manchester in Great Britain. He started dancing at the age of 4 with Hip-Hop and African before starting his formal dance training with a scholarship to The Hammond School, Chester. He then went on to study at the ProDanza Ballet Academy in Cuba. Nahum finished his training at The Ailey School and in 2015, receiving the Alvin Ailey Scholarship. A further scholarship enabled Nahum to take part in the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive. He has performed with the George Faison Universal Dance, Ballet Laura Alonso, Alma Dance Company, The Broadway Dance Lab, BlackBoysDanceToo, Harambee Dance Company, Complexions Contemporary Ballet and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Other professional theatre engagements include The Wiz 40th Anniversary Concert. Nahum began choreographing at a young age and won his first award in 2010, the ISTD Artistry Award in Choreography. Since then Nahum has choreographed for dance videos, Ballet Laura Alonso, The Hammond School, just to name a few. Nahum is currently playing 'Anxious' in the West Side Story Centennial World Tour. His workshops follow a warm up using combination of Horton and Jazz Technique, strengthening exercises, and fusing technique with urban dance styles to support students across the floor, and into a final performance combination. Additionally, he teaches repertoire from Broadway musicals. |
