Red Shoe Dance Company Hong Kong

Welcome

"Dance, a moderately to high strenous physical exercise, is also a valuable aesthetic experience in the school curriculum. Like many other forms of performing arts and sports, it has much to contribute to the development of the various aspects of human intelligence. Its worthwhileness in the school curriculum is beyond doubt."

WONG Chi-tak, Arthur - Principal Lecturer (PE), Hong Kong Institute of Education

Jacqui Roberts founded Red Shoe Dance Company in 2005. Her mission was to make dance more accessible to young children and teenagers by introducing popular modern dance classes to the activities programs within various ESF and International Schools throughout Hong Kong. Since then it has grown and is becoming one of the most popular schools in Hong Kong for dance education and tuition.

Students are introduced to a variety of dance styles, from classical jazz, modern, chinese and contemporary dance to the more popular commercial dance styles such as street jazz, hip-hop, R&B, funk, house and cheerdance. Students learn techniques which improve posture, flexibility, co-ordination, concentration, and build strength and confidence.

Students are given many opportunities to perform at regular events throughout the year and are encouraged to participate in many of the community arts projects which take place in Hong Kong.
