Nina Gelladuga RAD CBTS
Nina Hayuma Habulan Gelladuga began her ballet training at the age of 7 at the Ben-Lor Ballet Academy and then at the Cultural Center of The Philippines Dance School. At age 12, she was awarded a scholarship at the Philippine High School for the Arts, a school for gifted young children where she learned not only ballet but also modern, choreography/improvisation and folk dances. Coming from a family of artists, her upbringing prepared her for a life in the arts. She later enrolled at the University of the Philippines Dance Program, majoring in Dance. As a dancer and choreographer, she has worked for the Philippine Ballet Theatre, and for Contemporary groups including Airdance, Myra Beltran’s Dance Forum, E- Dance Theater, and the Green Papaya Art Projects.
She moved to Hong Kong in 2007 to be with her husband who is also a dancer and painter. She has worked as New Media Arts coordinator at Osage Gallery in 2007 creating performance art collaborations with other HK artists. She was also a full time teacher at the Jean M.Wong School of Ballet for 4 years. She recently graduated with the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies and gained her RAD registered teacher status. Nina joined Red Shoe Dance Company in September 2012. |
