Hip Hop Masterclass with Reagan Cornelio
Reagan was born and raised in the Philippines. He started dancing at the age of 5. By the time he turned 11, he was already creating his own choreography. He started winning local dance competitions during his adolescent years and by the time he reached 16, he was discovered and invited to be part of "BATTLEKREW"; one of the Philippines' pioneer Break Dance groups. This opened doors for Reagan to perform in corporate events and national television.
With dance his life's passion, Reagan began teaching, whilst learning other dance forms to broaden his knowledge and skills. He became part of "AIRDANCE"; Philippine's premiere Contemporary Dance Company. Through Airdance, he learned the foundations of ballet, contemporary dance, and modern jazz. Eventually, Reagan earned a spot as company faculty.
In his early 20's while still in his college years, Reagan was called on to be part of Gold's Gym Philippines. He became one of the most sought after dance fitness instructors. This paved the way for his own brand of dance fitness, called "RAGE" an acronym for Rhythm and Groove Exchange.
With his passion for dance at its peak, Reagan and some of the best dancers in the country, joined forces and founded "THE PHILIPPINE ALLSTARS". They paved the way for Philippine Hip Hop to flourish, by winning the World Hip Hop Championship twice, and the Hip Hop d' Italia.
Talent and bringing home the gold was a surefire ticket to recognition. Reagan carved his name in the Dance Industry, giving him more opportunities for performing, competing and teaching. Reagan became the head coach for the University of the Philippines Manila dance varsity called "INDAYOG”. He was able to tap into those with a natural flair for dance, as well as train seemingly 'hopeless' dancers; and turn them into young, passionate, skilled dancers. Aside from coaching, Reagan was also commissioned by one of the Philippines' largest television networks, "GMA7”. He choreographed and gave dance workshops to talented artists and singers for their popular TV shows and concerts.
Despite his popular status in the Philippines, the need to provide for his family made Reagan seek opportunities outside of the Philippines, so he decided to teach in Hong Kong. Proving that dance knows no limits, he has trained women with no background in dance, and who are in the prime of their lives. He has formed the "Yung Nui Crew HK" and is the first to represent Hong Kong in the World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas - another feather in his cap, which has inspired many people of all ages!
With all the life long experiences as a dancer, choreographer, coach, teacher; Reagan is unstoppable. He continues to learn new genres and, techniques, and sharpens his skills by training with other Masters and dance icons from around the world. He believes one has to continue learning, and the best way to hone ones skills is by teaching others.
