ADAPT Tap Examination Program
ADAPT is a certified dance teaching syllabus offering yearly examinations in Jazz, Tap and ballet Dance and is taught in over 150 Canadian Dance Studios coast to coast as well as reputable dance schools worldwide.
ADAPT stands for "Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers" and we are the first dance school in Asia to implement the syllabus and enter students for exams.
Taught by Jeremy Morganty, students will learn essential techniques and rhythms to develop musicality and a sense of style. Tap is one of the very first dance forms to be created and is very important for students interested in a career in Musical Theatre. The ADAPT Tap syllabus teaches timeless and traditional steps combined with modern styles and is a fun way of blending dance with sound.
ADAPT Tap Exams are offered annually.
This elite examinations program is by 'invitation only' with the intention of developing strong, disciplined, and confident dancers, with the highest of technical standards. It is highly recommended for students considering dance as a vocation and will assist in preparing them to enter the world of dance today from both a technical & performance aspect.
Ultimately the students will be working towards an examination for which they will receive a mark, feedback, and a certificate from A.D.A.P.T.’s examining body. Participation in exams give the students a clear standard to strive for and assists in developing many qualities that are useful both within and outside of the dance world such as goal setting, discipline, focus, confidence, posture, and a strong work ethic to name a few.
Students are individually selected for the program on the basis of their level of experience in Tap and Jazz. Selected students must train in Jazz alongside their ADAPT Tap classes to keep up with the technical demands of the syllabus.
A high level of commitment and discipline will be required and we believe that there are many talented students in Hong Kong who have the ability and positive attitude required to flourish in this program. For more information, visit the ADAPT website http://www.adaptsyllabus.com/
