ADAPT BALLET
ADAPT Ballet Certification
The ADAPT Syllabus now has a certified Ballet system based on the techniques of the world famous ballet teacher Agrippina Vaganova. It is based on the curriculum currently taught at the Vaganova Choreographic Institute of the Kirov Ballet.
In 1991, creators of the ADAPT Syllabus, Mr Brian and Faye Foley, were invited to visit Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Russia, to choreograph and direct a new review for the Leningrad State Music Hall. After visiting Russia five times over a three year period, they decided to bring two professional Russian dancers (Larissa Kouznetsova and Vladimir Lablakov) to Canada to help create a Ballet syllabus to enhance their Tap & Jazz Syllabus.
ADAPT Ballet is now training young dancers to a high standard, developing a strong technical foundation combined with artistic expression.
ADAPT Ballet Examinations
Students study each level over 2 years and therefore only require to take class once a week. Exams are held every 2 years. The examination consists of a beautifully choreographed performance class, prepared by Ms Analiesa, showing all the work they have learned and perfected over the 2-year period. Being a performance class, parents are invited to watch their child’s examination, giving students the feeling of being on stage where artistry and expression is shown throughout. Examinations are not mandatory but they are certainly encouraged.
