Reina Sawai

Ms Reina Sawai is Japanese, born and raised in New Zealand. She began her ballet training at the tender age of four. She danced professionally as a soloist for over 14 years with the Portugal National Ballet, Vienna State Opera Ballet, Boston Ballet and most recently Hong Kong Ballet. She performed in many great classical and works including ballets by George Balanchine, Rudolph Nureyev, Marius Petipa and more contemporary works with choreographers such as William Forsythe and Manuel Legris.

Ms Reina recently retired from performing in order to focus on teaching Ballet and physical wellness, utilizing her expertise and knowledge of dance to personally explore and deliver fitness for through Xtend Barre and Pilates. 

Ms Reina joined Red Shoe Dance as a freelance guest teacher and offers weekly Ballet classes, Pointe work and Body Conditioning as well as private coaching.
